At the very core of it all, is always timing.
Venice beach was basically covered in a cloud, but it made for some pretty cool shots. These photos are from two different beach days because after living in LA, I can’t stay away from the ocean for too long.
Of course, I would be wearing something black on the beach when most people would think to wear something slightly more bohemian, but my excuse here is that all these pieces are arguably still flowy and free, especially the dress! We also shot a fun denim look that just needed to be in Venice in honor of one of my favorite brands opening up their first store in the area!
After wanting to do a beach shoot for awhile, Monica and I planned our whole day, and the fog was insane when we got there! Nevertheless, we tried again the week after and found the PERFECT spot for quiet beach days. If you live in the LA area, and you’re looking to get some quality pics with minimal people around, check out beaches in the Pacific Palisades. There’s a parking lot (yep!), and it just so happens that the sunset on this day was stunning. Seriously, the most beautiful shades of blue I’ve ever seen.
We didn’t even mean to stay until sunset, but time flies when you’re shooting, so we ended up finding the perfect light by accident. Both of these days pretty much circled around shooting, but if you’re just starting to blog and want tips on locations and scheduling, comment below and let me know. I’ve learned a LOT in just a few short weeks that definitely would’ve been helpful earlier. Still learning, but aren’t we all? PS: going shopping immediately to add some more boho accessories to my closet. Onto more adventures!
